Note: Mr. Bogle’s mission was “To help America’s families invest soundly in order to secure their financial futures.” John C. Bogle on Investing: The First 50 Years, New ed. (Hoboken, New Jersey: John Wiley & Sons, Inc., 2015) p. 289.
Our Story
Midwest Asset was founded by James W. Byrd in 1987. In his earlier years he worked with high net worth, trusts-estates, institutional, and non-profit clients. Over the years, he also developed several equity and fixed-income quantitative portfolios that were proven to earn meaningful net excess returns over investable indices without increasing risk (independently verified, and contact us for details).
While working with these organizations and several investment firms, Midwest learned that the three major obstacles to investment success were persistent subjectivity; egregious annual fees; and the current unfavorable regulatory environment. In 2020 the firm’s research and marketing platform was upgraded. It can now offer investors with a minimum $200,000 in investable assets institutional quality services – with portfolio management fees often 50% or more below market averages.
We look forward to helping you to meet your investment goals. Initially, we can offer a return, expense, and risk analysis of your current portfolio. The “expense” factor is generally the best predictor of future relative results, and is increasingly important with current below-average forecasted stock and bond returns.
